The Position.

As an Account Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of effective marketing strategies for our clients across a diverse range of sectors, including B2B and B2C.

Our primary focus is to understand our clients’ businesses and identify opportunities for growth. To achieve this, you will work closely with our team of account managers and account executives, creative experts, web developers and digital managers. Your responsibility will be to deliver high-quality work that meets client goals and expectations.

As the primary point of contact for our clients, you will have effective communication skills and the ability to lead presentations and meetings with confidence. You will be adept at managing client accounts, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring that campaigns are executed seamlessly across multiple channels.

To be considered for this role, you should possess a proven track record in account management, with experience working in a similar role within a marketing agency.

You will have a deep understanding of the full marketing mix. Additionally, you should have strong organisational skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.

 

Responsibilities

 

Client Management:

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships.
  • Understand client needs and objectives, ensuring they are met.
  • Lead client meetings, presentations, and monthly business reviews.
  • Handle high-level communications and conflict resolution.
  • Ensure timely and successful delivery of solutions according to client needs and objectives.
  • Monitor and analyse client’s campaign performance and metrics.

 

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage account managers and executives.
  • Facilitate collaboration between the account team and other departments (e.g., creative, media, digital).
  • Ensure resources are available and allocated appropriately for client projects.
  • Provide guidance on strategy, tactics, and best practices.

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for client accounts.
  • Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Collaborate with the new business development team on pitches and proposals.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, challenges, and opportunities to position the agency and clients for success.

Financial Management:

  • Oversee billing, budgeting, and forecasting for client accounts.
  • Ensure profitability of accounts and projects.
  • Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximise profits.

Operational Excellence:

  • Ensure that all client projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Implement and refine processes and tools for account management efficiency.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of campaigns.

Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare and present regular performance reports for clients.
  • Analyse campaign results and provide strategic recommendations for optimisation.

Agency Representation:

  • Represent the agency at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.
  • Collaborate with other agency leaders to shape the agency’s direction, offerings, and culture.

Continuous Learning:

  • Stay updated with the latest trends in marketing, advertising, and the specific industries of key clients.
  • Encourage and facilitate professional development and training for the account team.
