We are excited to announce that we are currently seeking a Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team at Fantastic Media, an integrated marketing agency located in the bustling city centre of Leeds.

Fantastic Media is Yorkshire’s leading marketing consultancy, delivering strategy, digital, website development, social media, PR and content creation for a portfolio of national and international clients including Leeds United, Overfinch, Laxtons, abbeydale food, Schades Group and Leeds-based Skopes menswear.

The agency was established in 2006 by founder and CEO Andy Hobson and today boasts a 30-strong team of marketers.

We are seeking a BDM who will play a critical role in driving our continued growth and achieving our ambitious sales targets over the next three years.

The Position

As a Business Development Manager, reporting directly to our CEO Andy Hobson, you’ll be responsible for generating, managing, and nurturing relationships across a variety of sectors with a key focus on B2B industries. You’ll be a critical part of the agency’s growth, developing existing client accounts whilst identifying – and converting – new opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering ruthlessly and rigorously against your sales targets
  • Leading the generation of the pipeline and sales funnel
  • Finding new opportunities, forging and developing positive relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Creating a plan for cross and upselling, aligned with our target demographic
  • Collaborating with the strategy and creative teams to develop compelling proposals
  • Negotiating contracts and agreements, ensuring favourable terms for both the client and the agency
  • Staying updated on industry trends and market insights to inform business development strategies
  • Helping to create a strategic new business plan for the agency going forwards.

 

Skills and experience

You will be driven, focused, and highly determined to hit targets, with a clear vision of what a successful marketing agency business strategy looks like. You’ll also have a natural ability to emotionally connect with owners and managers of businesses predominantly in the B2B sector, forging strong relationships.

The job requires:

  • Proven track record of success in business development, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the marketing industry and an understanding of the full marketing mix
  • Self-motivation and a focus on driving revenue growth and delivering results
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to identify and capitalise on market opportunities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A knowledge of how to make strong connections with prospects and the ability to build rapport and credibility with clients
  • Experience of conducting successful meetings with C-level suite and senior managers
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and a track record of closing complex deals
  • A desire to meet client goals and an understanding of business objectives
  • An ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment, as well as independently and externally to represent the agency
  • A flexible, entrepreneurial mindset
  • A willingness to grow and learn from our CEO.
