Building Authority and Awareness for a Leading Law Firm

Chadwick Lawrence is a Yorkshire-based law firm that has been providing trusted legal advice to private and commercial clients for more than 170 years. With a strong heritage and a progressive approach to people and culture, the firm is entering a new era of growth, achieving a 35% year-on-year increase in turnover to £16.67 million for the year ending March 2025, with projections showing a 50% increase over two years by March 2026.

Our role was to raise the firm’s profile across Yorkshire and within the wider UK legal sector, positioning Chadwick Lawrence as an expert-led, forward-thinking law firm and a destination employer.

The Objectives.

  • Build Chadwick Lawrence’s reputation and visibility
  • Position the firm’s partners as thought leaders, with a particular emphasis on employment law and corporate and commercial expertise
  • Support recruitment by highlighting the firm’s culture and leadership

The Brief.

Chadwick Lawrence wanted to elevate its reputation as one of the region’s most respected and modern legal practices. With strong growth and an ambitious business plan in place, the firm sought to communicate both its professional credibility and progressive workplace culture through sustained PR and content activity.

The goal was twofold: attract new clients by showcasing the firm’s legal expertise, and support recruitment and retention by demonstrating why Chadwick Lawrence is different; a collaborative, people-first, and growth-driven law firm.

The Approach.

We began by identifying key spokespeople within the firm who could act as brand ambassadors for their specialist areas, focusing on employment law, corporate and commercial, and probate. Each spokesperson was supported with tailored media opportunities to share expert insight and commentary.

We built a strong media list spanning regional Yorkshire business titles and national legal trade press, while also mapping out relevant awards to highlight the firm’s leadership, innovation, and community impact.

Our messaging balanced professional expertise with human storytelling, spotlighting Chadwick Lawrence’s flexible working model, wellbeing initiatives, and charitable work; elements that challenge the traditional perception of a law firm and underline its progressive culture.

The Activity.

Our proactive PR programme secured features and commentary in both regional and national outlets, including The Yorkshire Post, Yorkshire Business Insider, TheBusinessDesk.com, Inside Housing, Law News, Solicitors’ Journal and BCL Legal Recruitment.

We also distributed regular press releases to highlight growth milestones, new hires, internal promotions, client wins or landmark deals, as well as community engagement initiatives. These stories built credibility while maintaining a steady media presence across Chadwick Lawrence’s key sectors.

Award activity played a central role in showcasing excellence across the firm. We developed entries for regional and national awards that reflected leadership, innovation, and departmental success. In 2025, Chadwick Lawrence achieved a record ten award short listings and one win so far – Managing Partner Neil Wilson was named Professional Services Leader of the Year at TheBusinessDesk Yorkshire Leadership Awards.

The Results.

Over a 16-month period, PR and content activity delivered measurable impact:

  • Total Coverage: 105 pieces
  • Online Coverage: 97 pieces
  • Print Coverage: 8 pieces
  • Online Coverage Views: 848,400
  • Print Circulation: 101,700
  • Total Website Visits (Reach): 637.7 million
  • Award nominations and wins: 10

Organic traffic to the firm’s website also rose consistently, reflecting a growing online reputation and stronger engagement from both clients and prospective hires.

Chadwick Lawrence has not only achieved record growth – 35% year-on-year – but also strengthened its national reputation as a trusted, progressive legal partner. With a clear plan to grow turnover by 50% by 2026, the firm is now better positioned than ever to continue expanding its client base and attracting top legal talent.
